Introduction to Eclectic Literary Magazine
This is Eclectic Literary Magazine
Blog #1
Hello, and welcome. If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably a little like me — curious, restless, hungry for the kind of knowledge that doesn’t always show up in textbooks or newsfeeds. I’ve spent my life chasing the “how” and “why” behind the world around us. Not because I had to, but because I couldn’t help myself.
Some people collect souvenirs. I collect discoveries — the overlooked stories, the accidental breakthroughs, the forgotten innovators, the strange little facts that make you stop and think, “Wait… how did I never know that?”
That curiosity is the heartbeat of this magazine. We’re not here to repeat what’s already been said. We’re here to uncover what’s been forgotten, ignored, or never taught in the first place. History is full of these moments, and they deserve to be explored with depth, curiosity, and imagination. That’s why this magazine exists: to reveal the hidden forces, choices, and discoveries that brought us to the present.
What You Can Expect from Us –
Commentary on Issues – Our take on topics readers care about: society, culture, historical research and everyday challenges.
Reader Q & A – Posts built around questions may ask.
For the first issue of Eclectic Literary Magazine, I’ve timed its launch for the 250th anniversary of this country’s founding. That sounds like a long time, however, there are nations that are much older but have not gained the position amongst the world’s nations as the United States of America. In that time we’ve dealt with internal crises, financial disasters, international wars and numerous threats to our country we’ve successfully stood up to and overcame. Today, the U.S. faces tests both internally as well as from foreign nations that test our ability to maintain our basic principles and beliefs. Exploring the many challenges this country has faced historically and currently underlies the reason for this magazine’s existence. We’ll explore legal and legislative issues that have impacted life in this country along with a variety of cultural, social and political issues that have shaped this nation.
We’ll have articles that delve into historical actions, legal and legislative decisions and how this nation over the years was transformed by these events. We look forward to your readership and interest in contributing to our magazine with an article, an essay, a fictional story or commentary that relates to the theme of one of our upcoming issues.
Unlike the majority of literary magazines, we’re interested in new and less-known information that will intrigue, surprise and educate our readers. You’re welcome to contact us with a proposal for an article, essay or story that fits the theme we’ll be covering. We’re not looking for horror, porno, any sexually explicit or LGBQT material or sci-fi.
Proposals should be sent to our email address. We don’t want previously published material. We’re looking for well written, thought-provoking and researched articles and stories. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
